Introduction to libmusicbrainz

The libmusicbrainz package contains a library which allows you to access the data held on the MusicBrainz server.

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-11.1 platform.

Installation of libmusicbrainz

First, fix a problem caused by CMake-3.18.0:

patch -Np1 -i ../libmusicbrainz-5.1.0-cmake_fixes-1.patch

Install libmusicbrainz by running the following commands:

mkdir build &&
cd    build &&

cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release .. &&
make

If you have installed Doxygen-1.9.3, optionally build the API documentation:

doxygen ../Doxyfile

This package does not come with a test suite.

Now, as the root user:

make install

If you have built the API documentation, install, as the root user:

rm -rf /usr/share/doc/libmusicbrainz-5.1.0 &&
cp -vr docs/ /usr/share/doc/libmusicbrainz-5.1.0
